The Tupolev Tu-142 is a Soviet/Russian maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft derived from the Tu-95 turboprop strategic bomber. The Tu-142 was designed by the Tupolev design bureau, and manufactured by the Kuibyshev Aviation and Taganrog Machinery Plants from 1968 to 1994. Formerly operated by the Soviet Navy and Ukrainian Air Force, the Tu-142 currently serves with the Russian Navy.- Wikipedia[en.wikipedia.org]

How to use
Controls

Center of the dashboard : Engine / propeller control.
Roof : Electric Starter, Lights, Flaps, Gyro, Other.
Pilot and co-pilot can be switched pressing the button to the left of the pilot seat.

This plane use 4 coaxial turboprop engine (jet engine), to start them:
– Enable the electric starter.
– Turn engine 2 and 3 on.
– Turn engine 1 and 4 on.

A/D is Roll and Yaw if gyro is on.
W/S is Pitch.
Left/Right is Yaw if gyro is off.

The setting of the autopilot are set by the navigator.

Take off
It can STOL but if you want a clean take off, drop flaps to 6 and set the throttle to 20-30%.

Landing
– Set throttle to 30% and align the plane with the runway.
– When aligned, drop flaps to 9 and set the trottle to 20%.
– Pitch down to get low altitude.
– When above the runway, set the throttle to 0%.
– If needed reverse collective to brake faster.

Commander

Can use the radio and change the temperature.

Flight Engineer

– Can change the throttle of each engine.
– Can increase the engine RPS and so the speed.
– Can enable refueling. (self or other)

Navigator 1

– See the map and can set up the autopilot.

Navigator 2

– Manage weather.

Radar Operator

– Can use the radar:
To the right is the tracking radar to lock a target in front of the plane.
To the left is the seaching radar that can find targets up to 20km.
– Can use a camera to search a ship.
– The seat can rotate to let you leave the compartment.

Spotter

Nice view isn’t it ?

Payload Operator

There are no payload.

Notes
  • This plane is very maneuverable.
  • It’s quite hard to land without taking damage.
  • You can’t start 4 engine at once without inf electricity.
