Description:

TS Lakewood – Passenger Excursion Steamship

WARNING
-This ship is a bit laggy. If you don’t have a "good" computer, I don’t recommend using this creation. Also, try to keep it away from large landmasses, because it doesn’t lag nearly as much in open water.
-Also, this boat is a bit top-heavy. As long as you are moving, you should be fine (the fin stabilizers keep the ship safe in most reasonable conditions).

This is the TS Lakewood, a passenger turbine steamer. She is heavily inspired by the turbine steamers that used to sail the River Clyde (Scotland/UK) in the first half of the 20th century. This ship is very laggy and kind of top-heavy, but she’s quite fast and looks awesome! I originally started this project over 6 months ago, but I had to take a break due to school, so it only actually took me about 1-2 months to build.

History (Fictional)
The TS Lakewood was built in 1930 in response to the growing competition from rival turbine steamers. She was powered by a double-ended boiler powering two steam turbines, with each one driving a screw. With a top speed of about 30 kts, she was much faster than her competition. Despite this, the Lakewood’s typical operating speed was about 15-20 kts on normal trips. She quickly became very popular with her passengers, with her simple yet comfortable furnishings and amenities. The TS Lakewood ferried passengers around the Sawyer Islands until 1940, when she was used as a troop ship during World War II (WWII). In 1948, she was returned to civilian service and continued to serve her usual routes well into the 1960s. By this point, she was beginning to show her age and was becoming increasingly expensive to maintain and operate. Around 1968, the Lakewood ran aground near Holt Town. Although the grounding was relatively gentle and the ship only suffered minor damage, her owners decided to use this as an excuse to get rid of her (they had fallen on hard times and were attempting to cut costs wherever possible), so she was soon towed away and laid up. The TS Lakewood never returned to service and was scrapped the following year.

Instructions
The Lakewood is very easy to use. Just head down to the boiler/engine room (it should be very easy to find) and press one of the “Light Boiler” buttons, which can be found on either side of the boiler. Then, you can either control the ship from the wheelhouse or the engine room. I’ll leave that part up to you. Enjoy!
In addition, this ship has 2 different sink modes. To use them, just head up to the wheelhouse and find the grey panel on the back wall. There, you will find two different switches. The first one sinks the ship normally, while the second one blows up the boiler. If your computer isn’t very good, you probably shouldn’t use the latter option, as the fire causes a ton of lag when it spreads.

-I “borrowed” a whistle design that I found on the “SS Jaimelynn”, which was made by ilp0tt1 . It’s a beautiful creation with tons of inspiration, I highly recommend checking it out!

-I want to thank SilverwolfGaming for helping me solve some of the stability issues that plagued my ship for the longest time. He helped me with the active stabilizer, which was a huge help, since I have no idea how to use PIDs properly. He’s way smarter than I am, and I recommend checking some of his stuff out.

-Other than that, I don’t think that I used anyone else’s stuff. If I’m wrong, please tell me so I can credit you!

Btw, I’m totally not responsible if this ship causes your computer to explode or something.
