Description:

This mod will significantly lower the chance of both Rebels and Pirates spawning, which effectively eliminates their ability to spawn randomly on the campaign map. This is only for the Imperial Campaign (not for Barbarian Invasion, and not for Alexander).

REQUIRES STARTING A NEW CAMPAIGN IN ORDER FOR IT TO WORK.

How it works:

"In the old RTW days", there was a trick in the descr_strat.txt file, where the following two values could be edited to prevent rebels and pirates from spawning on the map (respectively):

brigand_spawn_value (default value is 10)
pirate_spawn_value (default value is 28 < — rather high)

The default values (10 and 28, respectively) are divisors. If they are set lower than default, that INCREASES the chance of either rebels or pirates spawning on the map. Conversely, if you set these values to something incredibly high (in my case, this is 99999), that will DECREASE the chance of either of them spawning. The higher the number, the less chance that the game will roll on whether an army/fleet spawns somewhere on the map.

This is exactly what this mod does. After having played for a couple of days with just the value of 99999, I found it to be pretty reasonable, and haven’t seen neither rebels nor pirates in 3 different long and short campaigns. You may, of course, feel free to edit it yourself to your liking.

Compatibility:

This mod is incompatible with anything that changes the descr_strat.txt file. In other words, any major mod(s) that add new factions, change placement, starting money, family member names, traits, or even units, at the beginning of the Imperial Campaign for ANY faction. Yes, it is not very modular… sorry, that’s life.
