Description:
I have noticed people saying they cannot spawn the ship. Please know that each part takes 20+ seconds to spawn, and while putting the ship together your framerate can go very low (like 5fps low) Even though it seems impossible, if you have a decently powerful pc it’s still possible to put the ship together. Just be patient and give it a lot of time.

I present to you the RMS Bricktanic V4, aka the RMS Titanic!
This is hands down the best creation I’ve ever built in anything, ever.
This is the reason I haven’t uploaded anything in over a year, and before that rarely. I have been putting the majority of my building into this model for the past 2.5 years, since 2018.

I made this model as accurate as I possibly could with what I know, and I put passion and dedication into every stud of it. I learned more and more about the ship’s design as I worked on it, and I learned many new building techniques and solutions. I used many real images as reference, it’s 1:1 scale, and it has full interior.

I also very nearly quit the model entirely many times due to the tons of issues I ran into while building it, but ending up moving on anyway.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this model! 😀

• After spawning a part, use slow motion (0.1x speed) and leave it on without doing anything until the ship/part has stopped lagging.
• I recommend using Steam’s FPS counter, as it helps you tell when the ship/part has stopped lagging.
• Spawn each section on their corresponding alignment blocks (excluding the funnel part)
• You should notice that after spawning the middle section, arms fold out. This is where the bow and stern section’s alignment blocks are.
• Don’t forget to engage the couplings.
• Make sure all parts are downloaded.
• You should only spawn each part when you need it.
• This process is not the fastest thing ever, so please be patient.
All of the sections require godmode, make sure you put them in godmode (Ctrl + G) as soon as they are spawned unless you want your computer to implode.

Step 1: Spawn the middle section and move it to where you desire to place the ship.

Step 2: Spawn the middle top half section and place it directly on the alignment brick on top of the middle section (the alignment block has a sign right next to it, it’s not hard to find). Try spawning it in the center of the block, as indicated with the green circle. Try your best to keep it parallel with the alignment block while placing. Locate the couplings and engage them. Engage slow motion and wait for it to stop lagging.

Step 3: Spawn the stern section of the ship. Find the stern alignment block, and place the stern parallel with the alignment block. Locate the couplings and engage them, then engage slow motion and wait for it to stop lagging.

Step 4: Spawn the stern top half section of the ship. Find the stern alignment block, place the stern parallel with the alignment block, locate the couplings and engage them. Engage slow motion and wait for it to stop lagging.

Step 5: Spawn the bow section of the ship. Find the bow alignment block, and place the bow parallel with the alignment block. Locate the couplings and engage them, then engage slow motion and wait for it to stop lagging.

Step 6: Spawn the funnel section of the ship. This part doesn’t have an alignment block, just spawn it the best you can on top of the first funnel. Engage the couplings, then turn on slow motion and give the ship time to stop lagging.

Q: Is it 1:1 scale?
A: Yes, it is 1:1 scale in length and width, but not height. It isn’t 1:1 in height mainly because of the lack of sheer.
Q: Does it have full interior?
A: Yes, except for few exceptions, such as the engine room and other boiler rooms. The engine room was actually built and finished, but had to be removed as it caused issues in the connection process. The other boiler rooms were supposed to be made originally, but it ended up being too much of a brick-hungry idea on an already laggy ship.
Q: Why did this take so long to build?
A: The reason it took so long to build this model originally was lack of information. Just getting something so simple as deckplans took a year, which is why every model prior failed.
Q: How many bricks is it overall?
A: Roughly 90,000.
Q: 90,000 bricks is a lot. How much does it lag?
A: It can lag a lot at times while putting it together, and if the entire ship is rendered in frame. When the ship is put together fully, if you put it together correctly, it should only lag severely when a large portion of the ship is rendered.
Q: Speaking of lag, does this require a strong pc?
A: Yes. I am really sorry if you can’t run it, but there isn’t much I can do.
Q: Can you make a low brick version?
A: No. It would be surprisingly complicated to remove detail, and this model is meant to be as true to the ship as possible. In the future I may make a model with more emphasis on detailed portions of the ship and the exclusion of most of the interior other than the important parts. But even if I did make a new model, it would be quite a long time before then.
Q: I’ve done all the steps. Why won’t the ship stop lagging?
A: Make sure you have no loose bricks (including Bob’s corpse) on the ship. Also make sure all couplings are engaged
Q: Why can’t it be easier to put together?
A: Game limitations. Believe me, I tried my best to make it easier. Even this published version is easier to put together than previously. If you get irritated, just remember that I had to repeat this process 15 or so times just to tweak it to work.
Q: How long did it take to build this overall?
I originally started it on October 29, 2018, so overall 2 years and 6 months. The current model (model 5) started construction on July 23, 2019 though, so 1 year and 9 months.
Q: Why did you make this?
A: Because I have always strove to push the limits of Brick Rigs (at least with my older builds), and I also wanted to be the first to do something like this. I have also been really into Titanic’s design and wanted to model it fully.
Q: Why did you keep giving inaccurate release dates?
A: I could not have predicted all of the roadblocks during building. I also thought it was a much easier task than it proved to be in the end.
Q: How did you motivate yourself to work on this for so long?
A: I don’t really know. I very nearly quit the project multiple times, but always found motivation somehow. A big thing that helped me in the later stages of building it also was that I vowed to finish it whether I wanted to or not.
Q: Why doesn’t Bob fit in some areas?
A: The ship was built converting feet into stud. Bob is about 3 studs/feet wide. A real person is not 3 feet wide.
Q: Will you return to building after this?
A: Probably.
