Description:

A lazy fix for a lazy bug. Allows the Synthesis Avatar’s primary weapon to attack the ground and obstacles like anyone else, although it still won’t damage obstacles.

What’s the point, you ask? Well you can bounce shots off walls or the ground and hit things from range 7 instead of 5, if you are willing to give up one bounce. (You can already do this with crystal shotgun, malictors, arc extension etc.) There’s also an accuracy bonus for shooting at some obstacles, and empty hexes don’t usually have evasion. Maybe this will transform the Avatar from hot garbage to cold garbage? (It’s a vapor pressure joke, lower temperature means it stinks less.)

Note: the hotkey to manual target, which allows you to shoot the ground/obstacles, is ALT (hold). Also useful for explosives.

Background info: most weapons have a ‘unit targeter’ and a ‘obstacle targeter’ and for bouncing weapons also a ‘jump targeter’. Some bright spark decided to only do a jump targeter, set ‘skip primary target’ to False and call it a day, meaning you can’t shoot at anything that isn’t a valid bounce target (enemy unit). So I set it back to True and added the unit/obstacle targeters from another weapon.
