Description:

Long ago, in a time of desperate need, the Phoenix King Morvael introduced a levy system so that all Elves could be called upon to fight for the defence of their homeland. Every Elf, though he may be a craftsman, tradesman or artist in peacetime, must become a resolute fighter in time of war.

The first 50 turns of a new campaign are usually the most fun, and yet we’re usually stuck using stacks of the most basic units during that time. While these can be very effective, and indeed made sense in previous historical TW titles, it’s disappointing in a game that boasts as much variety of unit-types as Warhammer. This mod lowers the recruitment requirements for a number of High Elf unit types, so that you have more freedom to dabble and get creative in the early game.

Be warned; you’ll still be dealing with limited building space and limited economy, so it’s not like you’ll be conquering the world with top-tier doomstacks right from the get go. Choices and sacrifices may have to be made (hopefully).

Additionally I have made changes to the makeup of High Elf garrisons and defence buildings, and building costs/time of higher-tier settlements and recruitment buildings, as a nod towards balance and the lore (less Lothern and Chracian presence throughout the growing Elven world).

Summary of changes as follows:

– Archers are available for recruitment from Tier 2 Major Settlements (and Colonies) and above.
– Spearmen are available for recruitment from Tier 3 Major Settlements (and Colonies) and above.
– Swordmasters of Hoeth are available for recruitment from the Tier 3 Archive building and above.
– Phoenix Guard are available for recruitment from the Tier 3 Shrine of Asuryan building and above.
– Dragon Princes are available for recruitment from the Tier 4 Dragon’s Lair building and above.

– Ithilmar Smiths can now be built in Tier 2 Settlements.
– Ithilmar Workshops can now be built in Tier 3 Settlements.
– (Updated 05-11-17) White Tower of Hoeth, White Lion Hunting Grounds, Court of the Everqueen, Tor Anlec Citadel and Cothique Palace now available at lower tiers (various).

The following buildings now contribute units to the settlement garrison:
– Tower of Mages
– Ithilmar Smith
– Farrier
– Temple/Sanctuary of Asuryan
– Grove
– Harbour/Seaport
– Lumberyard
