You have the option to reduce the map/mission file size in the editor then you can resize the map to your own game play performance. So the less models for both map and mission then the greater in-game performance.
Switching off grass in options increases in-game performance.
Here is a map that has been collecting dust for quite a time now. It is from a folder of maps all built around the same idea. So thought I would upload this map that I have decided to call apoc. There is a mission.file included too. Also, when in [f3 mode] go to triggers and look for small_scripts/limited_wave, [top box]
Well click on limited_wave and then down below in the commands box just put in your own number in the ‘loop function box’ then hit return, I usually keep it to around 8. You will see a delay to so again put in your own delay time if you wish so after each say, 45secs delay, another 15 enemy troops will spawn, and soforth.
There is also, a zone added in the centre of the map where the ammo truck is out in front. Well, once entering the back of the building then 7 enemy amour should spawn into apoc from different directions, fingers crossed? Anybody know how I can script in a paratrooper reinforcement panel?
I am still working on the map with tidying it up to, especially, underneath as you will see a lot of little bushes, sorry about that, in time I will delete them. But yeh, the map is still under development so there will be updates to follow. The map is really a template for anyone who may wish to edit it be it for personal or professional, entirely up to you.
Also, A friend has kindly offered in helping me with setting up the multiplayer as I am still having problems with the player launcher error so this will hopefully be done soon?
The sandbag builds placed in the map were done by LT.Dayton with using his workshop subscription called Easy Mapping. It’s a smashing mod with lot’s of neat idea’s and also serves as a great inspiration to reach out for when the dreaded mappers block is felt creeping in. Oh, you may see some blue men hanging about well, that’s only because I was using reworked factions as activated in my game. So because it is not activated then of course, we have the blue men. Reworked factions can be found here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=742470440 I would recommend it for the radio chatter. I always have it activated. It is a very clever piece of work.
Cheers & Enjoy.
To install hit subscribe and then start your Call to Arms game and head over to workshop and activate apoc. Then close the game and head over to the content folder in the workshop, which is in steam games/steamapps/workshop/content and look for a folder with the numbers on. My folder says 302670. Anyway, then you will see other folders with numbers on.
In one of those numbered folders you will find apoc. When you have located the map then copy it and paste it into your map folder which is in Call to Arms/resource/map. Start the Gem Editor and then at the top right corner of your screen hit map, then load, then look for the folder you dropped apoc in and off yeh go.
To play the mission files. Hit f3 at the top left of your keypad. Then at the top right corner of your screen hit where it says mission, then hit load and again head over to the folder you pasted apoc in and hit it to locate the mission.files titled as delta_unit and zombie then simply hit play that’s located in green at the top left corner of your screen.
