Description:

Thousands of years into the past, in a continent cut off from the rest of the world by an impenetrable magical storm, a land filled with things which others only know as myth becomes home to the world’s grandest conflicts. History will remember it as a tale of great leaders, of heroes and villains, of courage and genius, but such fanciful writings are nothing more than fantastical fiction – for the day is won not by a single man, but through rivers of blood and mountains of corpses; through the spear of the soldier, the hammer of the smith and the pen of the statesman. Nations of Humans, Elves, Orcs and even more besides will clash, sending hundreds of thousands of brave soldiers to rot in the soil even before the terrors from beyond this world have their say…

Nesaria Universalis places you in the continent of Inecuria, a vast landmass larger than Europe, from 900 to 2500 INC (Itone Nava Cavita; Years After the Annihilation) – or, in our calendar, 600 BC to 1000 AD. This place would come to be entirely dominated by the Nesarian Empire – yet history is not set in stone, and the supremacy of the Nesarians is far from inevitable. Not even the survival of the world is guaranteed…

The scale of the map is zoomed in to a closer scale than vanilla EU4, with provinces representing individual settlements and the surrounding lands rather than counties. As such, compared to vanilla, troop movement across the map is faster, less manpower is gained from provinces, and taking provinces in war costs less diplomatic power and incurs less aggressive expansion.

This mod is in a beta state; there are huge tracts of the map left to create, and many unfinished parts look, quite simply, crap. I will work as rapidly as is feasible, but do not expect progress to be quick, as I am working completely alone.
Please feel free to offer suggestions for modifications to the gameplay. Other players are often better at spotting bugs, flaws or simply bad design decisions than I am, and other people pointing these out to me is a huge benefit to the mod.

DLC
No DLC is required, but obviously DLC will enhance the gameplay experience, and some important features may be missing without it.

Credits
Some graphical features were taken from other mods (because my artistic talent is sorely lacking). I highly recommend supporting the creators of these features by downloading the original mods.
Credit goes to Alyoshenka for some of the graphical building types, which come from the Mesogeios mod.
Credit goes to Xangelo7 for some of the unit models, which are taken from several of his unit pack mods.
Credit goes to the Imperium Universalis team for most of the trade goods icons.
Finally, credit goes to Piotr Musiał for the menu music, which is "The Banks of the Sansretour" from the soundtrack for The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine.
