This version is adjusted for 190CE start, it removes Lu Zhi and Tao Qian events since they are present already.
To prevent duplicate in 194CE campaign, Lü Meng will now only spawn for Sun Ce faction when player or AI captures Xindu capital (as scripted in DLC campaign).
New update for 1.5 patch and A World Betrayed DLC, reintroduces He Jin, Empress He, Lu Zhi and Tao Qian into the 194 campaign with a splash of alternate history.
He Jin has survived the assassination attempt by the eunuchs and has gone into hiding, eventually encountered in your territory and is ready to hire!
Empress He has escaped from the poisoning attempt by Dong Zhuo and is seeking asylum from the new warlords. She has rescinded her imperial title and all claims to the throne and is now known as Lady He. She is also able to marry.
Lu Zhi has retired from political life, but you can send a delegation to convince him to join your cause!
Tao Qian is recuperating in a rural homestead, visit him to persuade a change of allegiance!
Bored of Eight Princes campaign, but don’t want to waste their assets? Want He Jin, Empress He, Tao Qian and Lu Zhi to return to the main campaign in later start dates? This mod adds the Eight Prince models as new characters and Han Empire legendaries that spawn into main campaign (190 start only). This mod adds Deng Ai, Lü Meng, Ling Tong, Wang Ping, Li Dian, Lu Xun, Hao Zhao and Jiang Wei as event characters that spawn after set amount of turns. Although this mod is not meant to be historically accurate, some effort is made to enrich the story with their titles, descriptions and event cues. Most characters have high chance of spawning (25%) over a period 20 turns when they reach age of 18. Characters that have backstory due to historical events, such as Hao Zhao appear at a different age. He Jin and Empress He events will generate within the first 10 turns of the campaign. Lu Zhi and Tao Qian events will generate within the first 20 turns of the campaign.
Instead of using the assets to replace existing generic characters that spawn at the beginning of the game, this mod breathes some flavour by introducing legendary custom model characters into the middle and late game, when many other legendaries have died out.
Some character such as Lu Xun, Lü Meng and Ling Tong already have random chance to spawn at certain turns as generic characters, this mod also disables that so there is no generic duplicate of the character.
Ling Tong: Daring Errant (Sima Ai model)
"As long as you live, why worry that you will have no men under you?"
Ling Tong contributed to the foundation of the state of Wu in the middle Three Kingdoms period and was considered one of Sun Quan’s most valuable generals.
Event appears around turn ~65
Wang Ping: Iron Mountain (Sima Liang model)
His modest upbringing in the Baxi region refines his steadfast character, and gives him firsthand experience in mountainous military affairs.
Wang Ping originally served under Cao Cao but defected to Liu Bei, noted for taking part in Zhuge Liang’s Northern Expeditions. Known for his humble nature, self-discipline but was noted for lacking formal education.
Event appears around turn ~105
Deng Ai: Arrogant Conqueror (Sima Lun model)
His arrogance will be his downfall, but until then, Deng Ai will forge his own destiny.
One of the most famous characters in late Three Kingdoms period, pivotal in the conquest of Shu Han by Wei. However his later career was mired in controversy due to his arrogance.
Event appears around turn ~105
Lü Meng: Warrior of the Storm (Sima Wei model)
As valiant as the wind, as decisive as the thunder, as composed as the rain, as unpredictable as the storm.
Alongside Ling Tong, Lü Meng was highly appreciated by Sun Quan, a capable military leader but also a ferocious soldier in his own right, earning the nickname "Stormy Warrior".
Event only activates for Sun Ce faction upon capturing Xindu capital.
Li Dian: Dutiful Defender (Sima Yue model)
Thrust to wherever he is required, Li Dian puts duty before his own self-interest.
Li Dian was alongside Cao Cao in several major battles throughout the Three Kingdoms, including Guandu and his famous defence of Hefei at Xiaoyao Ford.
Event appears around turn ~20
Lu Xun: Scholar General (Sima Ying model)
Equal parts brains and brawn, Lu Xun can oversee both civil and military matters.
As a competent administrator and with an eye for military strategy, Lu Xun was a close advisor to Sun Quan during the Wu state’s height of power.
Event appears around turn ~35
Hao Zhao: Defender of Chencang (Sima Yong model)
For his stunning defence of Chencang against the full brunt of Zhuge Liang’s forces, Hao Zhao’s exploits are rightfully acclaimed.
Defending with 1000 troops against a reputed 50,000, Hao Zhao repulsed the Sleeping Dragon in the Second Northern Expedition and earned quick promotion, before an untimely death due to illness.
Event appears around turn ~175
Jiang Wei: Prodigy of Tianshui (Sima Jiong model)
Zhuge Liang’s own protégé, admired by both friend and foe.
Jiang Wei was earmarked by Zhuge Liang to be his successor, and attempted to realise his mentor’s dream through a series of ambitious, though ultimately unsuccessful expeditions against Wei before the final heroic defence of Shu Han state.
Event appears around turn ~130
The events appear as a dilemma for the player and will trigger regardless of current faction. Refusing the offer of hire will place the character into the global pool which allows them to be recruited by AI.
Confirmed not compatible with Wu Kingdaissance mod.
This mod is very lightweight and does not make changes to ceos.ccd files therefore it is compatible with virtually every other mod (such as Make Them Unique). Haven’t tested extensively with mod order, but it seems to run fine wherever it is placed.
This version only works for 194 start date, otherwise there will be incorrect spawn dates and duplicate characters for the other start dates. Please disable this mod if playing 182CE, 190CE or Eight Princes campaign.
For the sake of compatibility, the ceos.ccd files have not been edited, and thus custom traits are impossible, though I tried to match them as much as possible to their respective new characters. These characters will also spawn with Eight Prince campaign retinues, there does not seem to be any issue using these units in main campaign so far.
Respec Character Skills when they join you: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1803671821
Since most characters joining your faction have high ranks, this mod allows you to reset their abilities according to your wish.
Emperor Ling and Empress He can lead army: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1970561243
Allows Empress He to lead an army instead of just being a court character.
Characters live forever (No death from aging): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1892246573
Allows characters that are already old or had died due to scripted events to stay alive (such as Tao Qian, who usually dies within a few turns after event).
