Built from EMD from 1972 to 1986, the GP40-2 was an underserie from the Dash-2-Line. This was the average performance class of the four-axle locos from EMD.
With a power of 3060 HP she was a little bit more powerfull than the GP38-2. Because she has a Turbocharger, which increase the maintenance, not so many loco’s as the GP38-2 were produced.
