Description:

Advertised as a siege engine capable of inflicting damage across castle walls, Mangonels completely fail in that regard. They can’t hit anything, barely reach the first gatehouse in a siege and not even that on some maps. They slow their army down, increasing the risk of open field battles. But they are useless both in open field and in the sieges they are meant to excell in.

BUT NO LONGER!

This mod changes Mangonels to not completely suck in open field and to be actually useful in sieges.

CHANGES:

– increased range from 450 to 600
– removed hidden -50 accuracy penalty that wasn’t accounted for in the unit card info
– reduced accuracy by 10
– increased ammunition from 10 to 12 (13 for Hojo)
– increased calibration distance to 600
– increased projectile elevation from 37 to 500 for a better arc of fire (unsure wether this change actually does something)

So are Mangonels OP now? No, but now you can field them without putting yourself at a disadvantage. They are ok in open field now and great in sieges as they should be. Also accuracy buffs now have an impact on this units performance contrary to vanilla. Now you don’t have to feel bad about playing as the Hojo anymore.
