Does as it says on the tin, it converts the generic General units in Custom Battle as well as Generals in campaign to be Great Guard rather than weaker versions of Katana Cav. This makes Generals a very dangerous opponent on the battlefield, turning the Warrior upgrade tree from entirely useless into something actually viable. When paired with a mod that reworks the Warrior tree your commander’s become a terrifying force on the battlefield.
