BM All Empire State Troop Uniforms Unlocked
As the Empire you can now recruit State Troops with accurate colours from any Empire Faction.
Please check the latest Change Notes for all the updates to the mod.
- Those looking to have a more unique looking army with State Troops from all the Empire Factions
- Use in combination with any other empire texture/model mods. For example, if you use this mod with Adopotato’s Lorefriendly Empire Reskin: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1182043402, you would get his awesome models with my accurate colours for all variants I have created.
- Provides you with the ability to recruit Empire State Troops that match the colours of Altdorf, Averland, Hochland, Marienburg, Middenheim, Middenland, Nordland, Nuln, Ostermark, Ostland, Stirland, Talabecland, Wissenland and the Default Empire.
- You will now have 14 Colour Options for Crossbowmen, Halberdiers, Handgunners, Spearmen, Spearmen with Shields and Swordsmen for a total of 84 units of which 78 are new Colour Variants.
- Colour Variants for a Unit unlocks as soon as you unlock the Vanilla Unit.
- Each Colour Variant has their own UI with matching colour and unit card to make it easier to know who you are recruiting.
- [Workaround] Unfortunately, the layout of the Unit Cards in the local and global recruitment is not sorted alphabetically but seems to be by type, cost and then I don’t know what. This caused the order to be more random and jumbled, especially for units with the same cost; such as Swordsmen and Spearmen with Shields. Therefore, to ensure they are correctly ordered my current fix is giving each unit a unique recruitment cost that is 1 – 27 gold from the Vanilla price. If anyone knows a better fix I am all ears and will implement it ASAP 🙂
- Works in any game mode
- Save Game Compatible, but once you use this mod you cannot remove it unless the Empire has not recruited any of these units.
- As long as none of the mods you have alter the base building names that the Empire State Troops are recruited from or mods the Vanilla Swordsmen or Crossbowmen main_units_tables details, this mod should be compatible with no issues.
Having played a few Empire campaigns, I noticed that the coolest part for me was the multi army battles where I was fighting alongside other factions of the Empire. Going into battles against the enemies of man supported by banners and varying colours of the Empire together just felt good. Each Empire campaign these occurrences were only few and far between, and as I got further in the campaign and other Empire factions were wiped out or I took them over via confederation I started losing this cool feature. Making me sometimes try and keep them all alive just to have the possibility of having such battles.
So, began a mod to provide a very colourful and more unified army of the Empire under my own banner. It took a bit more time than I had anticipated, but I am happy with the results. Overall this mod allows you to recruit State Troops that match the colours of the various Empire Factions while playing as the Empire. To do this I had to make 60 new units, 10 of each type of unit to cover all the Empire Factions. I also varied the colours of the UI for each State Troop variant to help you easily distinguish between them.
- [Minor Difficulty Increase] As all the State Troops from each State technically count as different units, you cannot merge them together after battles. This will technically make the game more difficult so plan accordingly.
- [Minor Difficulty Increase] When recruiting in the Campaign, the order that units are displayed is by unit type and by cost, not by alphabetical order. Therefore, to ensure the recruitment display is not jumbled, the costs of each unit had to be slightly different. To note, this is not an issue in Multiplayer Battles as they do use alphabetical order. This technically will make your units cost slightly more in the campaign.
- [No Change to Difficulty] Once you unlock the ability to recruit a State Troop for the Empire, all variants of that State Troop for the other Empire Factions become available. This was first and foremost, because these are lower tier units, so you would never get the chance to really utilize some Empire Factions without them being unlocked this way; and this approach make it compatible with almost any mod.
Really want to give a shout out to Sebidee for the awesome Unit Modding Tutorial [www.twcenter.net]. Without his tutorial, this mod would have been a much more painful experience instead of a fun one.
Also want to thank Adopotato for being one of the first to check out the mod, and they let me know I broke some things that I was able to fix before too many people got their hands on it.
For anyone interested in modding or would like to make a variant of this Mod please check out the Change Notes for details about how I made this mod. I did this to improve the readability of my Mod description but still wanted to provide modding details for those who are interested.
Please rate this mod and ask questions to help others of the community know what you think. Constructive feedback is always appreciated 🙂
