“Ruin… has come to our division.
You remember the gelid trenches in the outskirt of Moscow, and the rolling flames above the Volga River. The Wehrmacht had fought four years in the vastness of Russia. The year was 1944, the Ruskies were winning this war. Their aggressive offensive were tearing our defense apart, and the Eastern Front was on the brink of collapse. And yet, this was not the end. Singular unsettling tales suggested an ancient mansion near Warsaw is a gateway to some fabulous and unnamed power, which can turn the tide of the war.
With relic and ritual, we bent every efforts towards the excavation and recovery of those long buried secrets, exhausting what remains of our strategic supplies on swarthy workmen and sturdy shovels. At last, in the salt-soaked crags beneath the lowest foundations, we unearthed that damnable portal of antediluvian evil. Our every step unsettled the ancient earth, but we were in a realm of death and madness! In the end, we fled, laughing and wailing, through those blacked arcades of antiquity, until consciousness failed us.
When we has come to, the corrupted countryside surrounding us was foreign and saturated by viciousness, violence and damnably transcendent terrors. We stood palpitating with the horrible realization, that we were perputually confined to the ravenous clutching shadows…
of the Darkest Dungeon.”

This mod introduces seven new types of enemy (10 if counting the three new types of barricades): Workman, Machinegunner, Paramedic, Officer, Grenadier, Rifleman and Sniper( They are all on the preview icon, from left to right. You will not see them in group with vanilla enemies. Plan your strategy carefully when engaging them. Over-confidence is not longer a SLOW killer when you are in their way.
The Workman is among the population that had been mobilized to the excavation of the mansion. He is a melee based enemy, and will smash your heroes real hard in the front ranks.
The Machinegunner is straightfoward and simple. He shoots. His suppressive fire skill is unlikely to land a direct hit on your heroes but will get your squad pinned and terrified.
The Paramedic can heal other enemies, strengthen other enemies. And when their is no one left to buff or to heal, he will shoot at your heroes with his tiny pistol.
The Officer will not attack you directly unless placed in the front ranks, but he will unrelentingly tag your heroes so as to make them vulnerable to his squad’s members’ attack.
The Grenadier will throw high damage grenade to your heroes when in the front ranks, and will blast your front ranks heroes with his mp40 when in the back.
The Rifleman uses a rifle, which has a damage bonus for marked target when not in the rank 1.
The Sniper is weak in the beginning of the battle. But once he aims (30 Crit Bonus + 100 Accuracy Bonus), he becomes a killing machine.
The Barricades are made to salute their counterparts in the game where they came from. They do not play a great role now aside from creating some interesting encounters like one you see on the screenshots above.
