Ilyushin IL-14
This is my recreation of the Ilyushin IL-14.
The IL-14 was a Soviet aircraft built from 1950. It was used by both air forces and civil airlines for both cargo and passengers.
Length: 22.25 Metres
Wingspan: 31.75 Metres
Top speed: 155 knots (set collective to 0.85 and throttle to 1.0)
How to start:
1. Turn the breakers on (behind the co-pilot’s seat) if they’re not already on.
2. Set throttle to 0.10 or above
3. Turn left and right fuel pumps on, located on the bottom row of overhead switches.
4. Press the starter buttons for the left and right engine for about one second, located by the fuel pump switches.
5. Wait for left and right engine RPS to get equal before turning collective up to prevent the plane from turning.
How to fly:
1. Turn throttle to 0.23 and collective to 1.0
2. Taxi to runway
3. When on runway, turn throttle up to full
4. Once flying, retract the landing gear with the overhead switch.
If using altitude hold, do not enable it until you are close to the requested altitude. If you are over 150 meters away from the requested altitude the plane might fly directly up or down uncontrollably.
Altitude hold also stabilises the roll to keep the plane flat so the only control you have when it is enabled is left and right with the rudder.
