Description:
American Airlines DC-10

To spawn, use an edited workbench or make a custom mission and spawn using the "Test Location" button. Please don’t ask me how to spawn it in.

Now featuring a GPS autopilot!

My rendition of a DC-10-10 in American Airlines paint scheme. To create this, I used multiple images, operation manuals, and blueprints, but even so, it cannot be 100% realistic. If you have any suggestions, feel free to tell me in the comments section. I recommend using this plane with at least a decent PC. I generally get about 40 FPS when using this.

Operation Manual

This plane has many simulated features in an effort to make it as close to the real thing as possible. This is a description covering the startup and operation of the plane.

Startup Procedure
1). Climb up the handles on the left side of the plane and use the exterior handle to open the door. The door can be closed using the console next to the jumpseat- just make sure not to use the emergency lift bars, unless there is an emergency obviously.
2). On the overhead panel, turn on all the relay switches on the top and then turn on the two panel light relay switches on the right side.
3). On the F/E panel, turn on the battery, and then turn on the APU fuel pump, start select, APU-battery, and master switches
4). Turn on the GEN switches and then turn on the 4 bleed air switches
5). Turn on the tank switches (1-3)
6). On the pedestal, turn on the fuel switches
7). On the overhead panel, turn on the engine ignition-run switch and then start the 3 engines
8). Turn on the 3 hydraulic pumps
9). Turn on the pitot tube anti-ice
10). Open the hydraulic system valves and then turn on the pumps
11). Turn on galley power and shut down the APU once the engines have started
12). On the overhead panel, turn off the engine ignition-run switch or else the engines will start acting weird
13). Sit in the pilot’s seat, release the parking brake, and then throttle up

Landing
For landing, I recommend deploying full flaps and having the throttle set to around 35-34.
Autobrakes can be enabled on the overhead panel. Access the keypad near the throttle to adjust the autobrake intensity (0 = Normal, 1 = Hard Braking, 2 = Full Stop)

Failures
Presently, there is a panel behind the jumpseat that contains controls to activate various failures, from engine fires to hydraulic system leaks. However, I would not recommend activating a fire in engines 1 or 3, as this just causes the plane to go into an uncontrollable death spiral. The failures panel is still a WIP.

System Descriptions

Anti-Ice

Once the exterior temperature of the aircraft drops below zero, there will be a simulated loss of exterior sensors, including speed, altitude, and angle of attack. This can interfere with the autopilot, but it can be prevented by activating the pitot tube heat, which is powered by bleed air.

Cabin Indicators

Cabin indicators include exit signs, which are illuminated by the evacuation switch on the overhead panel. No smoking indicators are controlled from the overhead panel. Fasten Seatbelts can also be operated manually, or it can be set to auto, which automatically illuminates the signs when the landing gear is lowered.

Flight Data Recorder

In the rear of the plane, a panel can be opened revealing a flight data recorder which can be activated from the overhead panel. The FDR records the last second of pitch inputs, and it also records roll inputs, angle of attack, and throttle inputs at the time of impact. The destruction of various sensors placed around the aircraft triggers the FDR.

Known Issues

-Some shaking may be noticed in the tail engine, this is purely visual and does not affect performance
-The aircraft rolls to the right at slow speeds, this can be counteracted with about 0.05 of ALT trim

Don’t comment asking how to spawn it in, I wrote it at the top.
