R.M.S Atlantis (1890)

Story:
RMS Atlantis was laid down in 1887 as RMS Poseidon, and with her sisters, RMS Pacific, RMS Arctic and RMS Arabian of the "Sea Class". She was launched in November 1889, and sailed in 1890 on her maiden voyage. She was considered a fine ship, but her heavy furnishings made her alarmingly top-heavy. Sadly, in 1896, she was struck by Greyhound Steam Navigation Company’s USMS Bennettsville, and she foundered after 6 hours with the loss of 49 lives. The Atlantis proved that no matter how large ships can be, they will always be able to sink. Her sister Pacific was scrapped in 1924, the Arctic was scrapped in 1931 and finally, the Arabian was destroyed in a storm after grounding in 1902. The Sea Class were problematic, yet beautiful interiors with a splendid first class dining saloon, and were one of the most popular River Liners at their time.
