The Project 1124 Albatros small anti-submarine ships (NATO code name Grisha class corvette) are a series of Soviet small anti-submarine ships.
The purpose of the project 1124 ships was to ensure the deployment of Soviet SSBNs, protect naval bases and formations of attack ships and convoys of ships in coastal areas
The ships of the project 1124 carried out combat service in the 1970s-1980s as part of the Northern, Baltic, Pacific and Black Sea Fleets of the USSR Navy, searching for and chasing enemy submarines. Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Sergey Georgievich Gorshkov called the ships of this project "the workhorse of the fleet".

In addition to the detection and pursuit of foreign submarines, the albatrosses escorted individual ships and caravans in dangerous areas.
So, in 1990-1991, during the civil war in Ethiopia, the MPK-118 "Komsomolets of Moldavia" served in the Red Sea, where it successfully conducted more than 30 convoys. Small anti-submarine ships pr. 1124 served in the Mediterranean Sea.
1124P was a development of the MPK pr. 1124 and was intended for service in the border troops of the USSR and was classified as a border patrol ship. PSKR pr. 1124P, in contrast to the basic project, instead of the "Osa-M" SAM, they were armed with a second 57-mm AU.
The most massive and most successful corvettes of the soviet fleet.

The Grisha is escorting a Delta I ballistic missile submarine to its dive point.
