Description:

Greetings! This mod contains the Volgograd Planetarium built in 1954. He became a gift from the GDR to the Soviet people on the eve of Stalin’s 70th birthday. In addition to the planetarium itself, the mod also contains an observatory and a transformer station.
I would also like to thank Dark Liquor for the beautiful statue at the top of the planetarium, which is very similar to the original.

More details about the building:
The planetarium is located at the end of Peace Street, like a temple, and, which is symbolic, on the street that was one of the first streets restored after the devastating Battle of Stalingrad. Completely all construction, finishing work, expensive materials and the best equipment at the time of construction were donated by the working people of the GDR to the Soviet people and the inhabitants of Stalingrad. In March 1951, the newspaper Stalingradskaya Pravda wrote:
"In our country, there are planetariums only in Moscow and Kiev. The Stalingrad planetarium will be the third, and in terms of technical equipment and architectural construction, it will significantly surpass the existing ones."
In the summer of 1954, construction work inside the building was completed. On September 19, 1954, the grand opening of the planetarium took place.
The Star Hall, which can accommodate 450 spectators, is equipped with a domed screen and a large planetarium made in the GDR. The device is equipped with 99 projectors, with the help of which you can simultaneously see more than 6 thousand stars and planets.
I also cannot help but note that here in the foyer of the planetarium, at the entrance, there is a large mosaic portrait of Stalin by V.N.Arakelov, made of mother of pearl, jasper and malachite, as well as precious stones – Ural gems, hidden in the 60s and rebuilt in the 1990s. This is probably the most beautiful portrait of Stalin, which, in my opinion, must be preserved, because it certainly bears artistic value, despite the very personality of Joseph Vissarionovich.
