Immortal Hearts
Immortal Hearts are a special type of soul heart. They can only take half a heart of damage at a time, and a half immortal heart will refill itself on clearing a room!
Immortal Hearts have a 50% chance to replace any Eternal Heart drop.
Introduced in Antibirth, this heart type was mysteriously absent in Repentance. So I decided to port it.
This mod works for both AB+ and Repentance.
- The Forgotten cannot currently obtain immortal hearts (not even The Soul), due to API limitations. This will be fixed soon.
- When playing as Jacob & Esau, Esau’s immortal hearts will show as soul hearts instead. This is also due to API limitations, but a fix is in the works.
- Immortal hearts are still visible in the pause menu and in boss intros. Again, API limitations that will hopefully be worked around soon.
Q: My immortal hearts are misaligned on the HUD!
A: Your hud offset must be set to 10 (the maximum) in options. You can use lower HUD offsets if you install Mod Config Menu, and configure your HUD offset there appropriately. Note that completely custom HUDs are currently not supported.
This mod is in early alpha and will probably have some bugs! If you find any bugs, please do not hesitate to report them in the bugs thread or the comments below!
