Description:

Better Congenital Inheritance has been updated for version 1.4.4 of Crusader Kings III. If you experience any issues, try unsubscribing and resubscribing on Steam.

This mod rebalances the generation and inheritance of congenital traits to make incestuous eugenics programs slightly less overpowered and make it more common to see characters with certain congenital traits.

Congenital traits are now less likely to be inherited than in the base game, and tier 3 congenital traits are no longer virtually guaranteed to be passed on to offspring. This makes it much more difficult to keep good traits in your dynasty without investing in blood legacies and aggressively pruning your family tree.

Tiered congenital traits will also appear with more frequency at birth and random character generation. For example, the probability of a character being randomly born with the quick trait is now 5%, up from 0.5%. It is also possible for characters to be born with the fecund trait, which is disabled in vanilla for some reason.

The interaction of these two changes makes it more challenging to create a dynasty of superhumans, while also increasing the average quality of potential marriage partners from outside your dynasty. Hopefully this mod gives some of you degenerates less of an incentive to marry your own children.
