The USS Albacore is the successor to the Poseidon class SSN and forms the second generation of nuclear powered fast attack submarine. Equipped with 8 torpedoes and a VLS is the forward hull the Albacore class is designed as a hunter killer capable of putting down any surface or submerged targets she encounters. In addition the class also features a dive trunk for covert operations.
