Mod Summary:

Orbis Terrarum started as an addition to the environments for Environments HD II however the mod grew into something much larger and expansive. After I revisited Flora HD, I realized the environments I wished to make clashed with some of the textures in the vanilla game. Constant editing for the right look and many hours later, Orbis Terrarum was born. I call the mod "The Whole World" because it truly edits the world of Rome II. This mod adds over five hundred environments, new textures for the landscape for all regions, and modified and ported Attila textures for cities and various misc objects. This mod is quite large and will tax most older gaming rigs if using max graphical settings. This mod is meant to be used as a standalone mod, making Flora HD and Environments II HD obsolete (I will still leave them up).

Features:

– Over five hundred new weather types attempting to grasp realistic lighting. This means there are environments for most hours of the day with varying cloud densities, with sun position calculations based on the average latitude and longitude for the region.

-Original Siege of Carthage environment (slightly updated since Environment II HD), near original Teutobourg Forest battle environment, redone/accurate to the time of day battle environments for the other historical battles.

-Clouds made more dynamic, can move across the battelfield. Some cloudy days can become clear if the battle lasts long enough.

-Flora HD has been updated and incorporated into the mod with brand new terrain textures which apply a unique aesthetic to the different regions. Colour pallette and aesthetic is more based on the original Rome: Total War terrain.

-Modified and ported Attila textures for cities and objects.

Performance:

This mod pushes Rome II’s visuals to the near limit. If you use max settings, be sure you have a more recent GPU otherwise you will run into occasions where Graphical Memory will run low. I have only noticed this on large city battles with multiple effects on the map. This seems to happen mostly on Winter maps since the game adds another post-processing layer over the terrain.

Compatibility:

This mod is compatible with ALL mods that do not alter the environment and terrain textures. This mod is meant to replace Flora HD and my previous environment mods. You technically can fuse my environment mods by having both active but the effects will vary based on your taste in lighting. It cannot be used alongside Flora HD.

YES, THIS MOD IS COMPATIBLE WITH DIVIDE ET IMPERA. <3

UPDATE TO PERMISSIONS POLICY: As time has gone on, I have seen the ever increasing presence of donations and patreons associated with Total War Modding. I have a personal issue with the idea of linking any type of monetary function with modding and feel it is best to have the two entirely separate. Even donating to authors for their work is too near the chance of modders locking content behind paywalls and separating paid users from unpaid ones. It is for this reason that any mod page which links or has a donation system associated with it will have to speak to me directly and ask for permission. Individual modders who wish to use these assets should shoot me a message and Ill likely give permission. Mod teams will need to discuss the use of my assets with me.

Future Plans:

-Better Implementation of varied distinct weather types such as Rain, Fog, Sandstorms.
-Creation of more unique environment types for each region.
