Description:

IMPORTANT. READ THE DESCRIPTION

These are some shield patterns I created a while ago and were used in the Great Latin War Mod made by Heinrich von Preußen. I decided to upload them so that more people who mod can use them. This is NOT a mod but assets that can be used by modders.

IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO ADD THEM TO YOUR MOD READ THIS

Open the pack called "newhoplonshieldpatterns.pack" from your data folder of Rome II using PFM.

Once opened, you will find 9 different directories in it, representing a seperate shield.

Extract all 3 files somewhere you can easily find them, e.g. Desktop.

Now go to your mod, and go to the variantmeshes directories.

If you have a _variantmodels subdirectory go to "shields" and add the variantmeshdefinition file in there.

Otherwise create an empty directory, name it "shields" and add the file, then save.

The other 2 files need to be added under Patterns > Hellenic . Again if these 2 directories don’t exist, create empty directories and name them like this, then add the dds and texturearray files there.

It’s important that all 3 files are in the correct directories, otherwise you won’t be able to use the shields.

In order to give the shield to a unit add the following line to the shield slot: <VARIANT_MESH_REFERENCE definition="VariantMeshes/_VariantModels/man/shield/"Shield Name".VariantMeshDefinition" />

Instead of "Shield Name" use the name of the variantmeshdefinition file of the shield you want to use.

If the _variantmodels directory does not exist, you will have to create it first(empty directory and give it this name), and then create the other directories where the files need to be.

Well, this is how you will add them to your mod, as long you refer to this mod, or to me, incase you used any of my shields, you are free to use them. Happy modding 🙂
