he RMS Liverpool was built by the Red Funnel Line. Four vessels of the Liverpool class were built, she was the first one. The Liverpool began regular service between England and Canada. In 1891 she collided with her sistership, the Manchester, there were no casualties. Then, disaster struck, one of the other ships of that class, the Queenstown, sank in the Atlantic due to a collision with an iceberg. All of the other ships of that class survived the war. In 1928 all of them were scrapped.
