Stronger Towers (FOTS Edition)
This mod makes the tower upgrades in FOTS actually worth their incredibly substantial cost (many turns of research, using a building slot, tens of thousand in koku spent, and many turns spent building them). You invest more time and money into them than a good army but they can’t even move around and capture towns or useful things like that. Their only job is defense of one city so they deserve to be good at what they do for their large investment. Changes include:
Matchlock Tower: Range increased slightly, Rate of fire increased and accuracy increased.
Gatling Gun Tower: Range increased slightly, Rate of fire increased (actually feels like a gatling gun unlike before), spread of shot tuned down a bit. Spread is a measure of how far the shot deviates from the intended target. Spread matters most at maximum range and has almost no effect up close.
Cannon Towers: Now fire shrapnel shot instead of a regular, non-explosive cannon ball. Range increased to be able to counter enemy cannons. Retain ability to switch to gatling gun mode as units close in.
