Vermintide: Skaven Overhaul
Disapointed with vannila Skaven? So was I…
This mod if ya cant tell is an overhaul for the Skaven, everything from retextures to redesigns are included.
Just about every unit in the skaven roster has been altered in some way to make them feel like the verminous hordes from the lore, with a little inspiration from TT.
Summary:
– Changes the size of every core Skaven unit, been increased to Horde size, some more specialised units have been slightly increased or reduced in size (low performance comps beware!)
– New Stormvermin with Halberds and Shields
– Removed Death Globe Bombadiers, dont worry, Globadiers have inherited from the unit so you wont really miss em.
– Added Packmasters, yes the sadistic rats with whips (Wish i could do cattle prods :C). Serves as a small yet major morale boosting unit that is pretty fragile, has a custom ability which boosts the target’s stats for a short while.
– Queek’s Red Guard: Only recruitable at Mors HQ
– Chimaerats: Giant-Mutant Hydra rats from clan Moulder that can breath warpfire, they are an older white dwarf unit.
– Adds 2 new abilities to slaves, Swarm of Vermin (strengh in numbers but with much stronger morale) and Worthless Protectors(+5 morale to surrounding units) Slaves should actualy be worth a damn now.
– Globadiers now have Death Globes as an ability, anti-large explosive globes with 3 charges per battle.
– Gutter Runners (without poison) now have concealing bombs.
– Every Skaven summon no-longer degrades. – Might need to be changed depending on feedback
– Thirteenth spell completely redesigned: now transforms targeted unit into a unit of clan rats with shields, also produces a large explosion.
– The Rats Emerge: giant explosion untill we get rat swarms, 350 slaves in a hellpit makes no sense and would be horribly game breaking.
– The Bell now tolls
– Death Runners are now a small specialist unit. They have 2 new abilities: Distraction: makes a character uncontrolable for a time, Flash Bomb: Wide area debuff.
– Slaves are a supporting-meat-shield unit, generaly a bad idea charging these guys ahead of the horde, yet also essential to bring along due to their morale buffs.
– Globadiers are ALOT more potent, they have a new choking effect tied to their globes which will drain enemy health and will severely debuff them.
– Warpfire throwers have an insane amount of weapon damage, charging these guys is suicide, they are slow and have a limited unit size, making them vulnerable to being out-maneuvered.
– Warp-lighting cannon’s projectile is as fast as lighting now… Litteraly, dont blink. Their accuracy is also reduced due to the notorious unreliability of warp lighting cannons.
– Alot of the shielded and non-shielded variants have fliped stats, skaven without a shield will typicaly have much better offensive stats than those with shields.
– Censer Bearers are smaller units, have very strong attack with knockback with limited defense.
– Gutter Runners are now a hit-and-run unit, you can use them for skirmishing but your not using them as the ninjas they are, they have decent melee stats but are particularly fragile.
– Doomwheels also have the lighting fast projectiles, they also have more mass and reduced health. Chances are, if they get bogged down they will get smashed, keep the momentum up and don’t run into something bigger than you.
– Warlock Engineers now have a ranged attack (Just ignore the rocket)
– Sword Stormvermin are the middle unit of halberds and halberds with shields.
– Better looking Clanrats
– New Grey Plague monks
– Rat Ogre Variation
– Expanded Gutter Runner variants
– New Deathrunners
– New Nightrunners
Keep in mind the balancing isnt perfect and things will get adjusted over time, id love to hear your feedback when it comes to balancing.
Play on DX12 at your own peril, playing on DX12 will cause the custom variants to explode in a graphical glitch. DX11 is strongly advised as I do not have the resources neccessary to fix this.
