MAS Velocissimo Classe 500 Serie 3 [DLC]
The "Velocissimo Classe 500" or more simply MAS 500 (Motoscafo Armato Silurante, Armed Torpedoing Motorboat) where made at the end of the 1930s.
They were propelled by a couple of Isotta Fraschini Asso 100 aeronautical 18 cylinder W engines, granting it an irl speed of 48-43 knots depending on the version and an in-game top speed of 45 knots.
75 units were made between 1937 and 1941, with 48 being in service in 1940. It had a crew of 9 and they were made for calm seas, not ideal for open water, which eventually led to the evolution of a new bigger type of torpedo boats, the MS, inspired by the German Schnellboots.
The ingame variant is simply called "MAS 500", which never existed IRL, but its made after a 3a serie version, featuring a Breda 20mm autocannon.
It also has an accessible and detailed bridge, engine room and radio room. Fuel tanks are located in the back and they can be refilled.
To start up the engines, head in the engine room via the hatch behind the gun, then turn up "Manetta", turn on "Raffreddamento" and "Pompe Benzina" and then press the "Accensione". After that head to the covered bridge, turn up the "Frizione" above 0.6 (The lower, the faster the boat, but watch fuel and engine temp) and you are good to go.
When dropping torpedoes, space them out a little or they may track eachother. For the depth charges, the faster you are going the more they spread.
