After a long hiatus, the Dynamic Colonial Experience mod is updated and ready for your enjoyment. Check out the new sister mod, More Formable Nations!

The newly constructed Dynamic Colonial Experience mod is back in action, and I’m excited to explain for you some of the additions and changes I’ve made to this mod. The original mod was poorly written and bloated, causing unexpected crashes, multiple bugs and glitches, and poor design, all of which have been vastly improved with this iteration fo the mod.

In doing so, however, the mod will now be split into two, completely independent mods. This was done after many subscribers requested one feature of the mod, but not the other and vice-versa.

Before, the Dynamic Colonial Experience Mod changed both the aesthetics of coloinzation and the nations that could be resulted from it, with the addition of new colonial nations that could be formed after gaining independence. Now, these new nations will only appear in the new sister mod the Dynamic Colonial Experience Mod, the More Formable Nations mod! WIth both enabled, your experience will remain the same as it was before the new update. This is will simply allow users to have one without the other if they so wish!

So now, let’s get into what the Dynamic Colonial Experience mod will bring to your Europa Universalis IV experience:

  • Colony names based on culture: Instead of having English Mexico or French Louisiana, colonies will be named based on their history and culture. All of the names used are historically accurate and allow for more immersive gameplay.
  • More consistent independence: Rather having England or France retain their colonies until the end of the game without consequence, colonies will now be much more rebellious towards their overlords. You’ll find the computer forcing independence as a peace offer more often and colonies breaking free every game.
  • (Still in progress) Localization for every New World province: Ever find it strange how when England colonizes a province in the Carribean, it still has a Spanish name? With this major addition to the mod, each of the 4 major colonial powers (France, England, Spain, and Portugal) will have unique localization for every province in the New World, creating a more realistic colonization experience.

Over time, I’ll continue adding localization for dynamic colony names for specific countries, such as the Irish minors, the Scandanavian countries, etc. If you’d like to see a specific one added, drop a comment and I’ll begin researching it!

Thank you for being patient with me regarding the update of this mod. I know it was inactive for a while, but I hope with this new update you’ll be able to begin enjoying it again. It doesn’t have all of the older features, such as wasteland removal, but I hope you will understand what can and can’t be done.
