Description:

If you are like me and you hated the Vortex and Mortal Empires domination and long campaign victories that all have copy/paste objectives that are not only unfun but also disrespect your time by asking you to conquer every faction on the map then this mod should interest you.

I have sought to solve these grievances by making modifications to the victory conditions in Domination victory that serve three main purposes:

  • To make them unique to each subfaction.
  • To be easier to achieve and more respectful of the player’s time.
  • To be loreful and thematic for the subfaction’s goals.

My plan is for these objectives to also provide narrative feedback for completing them by using this mod in conjunction with the Legendary Lore mod. For example, rooting out Deathmaster Snikch as Zhao Ming will trigger a text event showing what happens. I have plans for many more narrative events linking the objectives in the future.

This mod does not interfere with the main storyline (Chaos Realms and Rifts) in any way, nor does it disable achievements. In fact, I have made some objectives actually guide the player automatically towards unlocking achievements.


Miao Ying:
Ensure the sanctity of Grand Cathay by securing the three gates of the Great Bastion, constructing the Ninth Wall landmark in Nan-Gau, and eliminating the most notorious agent of Chi’an Chi: Kairos Fateweaver.

Zhao Ming:
Reclaim your home city of Shang-Yan, remove the vermin infestation in the Warpstone Desert, and secure safe passage for your caravans by either allying with or destroying the Goldtooth tribe led by Greasus.

The Daemon Prince:
Guide the fallen Kislevite back to his home, where he will confront his lost love Katarina Tzarina and bring ruination to the lands and people he once swore to protect.

Katarin:
Unite the 3 major Kislevite cities of Kislev, Praag and Erengrad, subdue Kostaltyn and the Great Orthodoxy with either military might or confederation, and slay the traitor Yuri, now a Daemon Prince leading the Legions of Chaos.

Kostaltyn:
Heresy! Heresy all around! Usurp the Ice Witch in Kislev. Let your righteous flame melt her Ice Palace to slush! But do not stop there. The Old World is rife with corruption, blasphemy, and the worship of lesser gods. Tear down the Temple of Sigmar, disperse the Cult of Ulric, beggar the followers of Handrich! Ursun, Tor, Dazh, Salyak – these are the true gods who will guide the realms of men out of chaos, no others!

Due to the similarity of the starting locations of the two Kislevite legendary lords, I decided to give Kostaltyn completely different objectives to encourage players to play a different way: as a religious zealot hellbent on converting the Old World!

Boris Ursus:
The legendary protector of Kislev has risen from the ice to reclaim the old territories and take the fight to Chaos! Ensure Kislev is unified once more, either under your own guiding hand or your nominated successor, then ensure the old territories are safely connected to the motherland. Finally, march into the Chaos Wastes. Let the people of Kislev know peace for a change, for the Daemons will be far too preoccupied with you!

Skarbrand
First, banish that prancing fool, N’Kari. Work towards the end of all magic with the construction of the Khadeium Paradox landmark. Commit ever greater acts of violence across the civilisations of the mortal world in the hopes that Khorne may bring you back into the fold. Remember, Khorne does not care from whence the blood flows.

The objectives for Skarbrand guide the player to several achievements, such as the Khadeium Paradox and razing 30 settlements. Khorne does not discriminate; he only wants bloodshed, and Skarbrand is now convinced that only the destruction of capital cities will finally end his exile. Player choice is paramount: you are given a choice of 16 targets, although only 8 are ultimately required for victory.

Ku’gath Plaguefather:
The Plaguefather has suffered numerous humiliating defeats at the hands of the Dwarfs, who are strangely resistant to his plagues. No longer. The Brewmaster has been diligently working at his cauldron, and is confident his contagions can bring down the hated Dwarfs once and for all. Bring down their famous holds of Kraka Drak, Karak Kadrin, Karak Ungor, and the infamous Zhufbar. Of course, the Chaos Dwarfs shall not be spared either: tear down their capital of Zharr Naggrund!

Kairos Fateweaver:
Tear down the Great Bastion and then sow chaos and disharmony across Cathay!

N’Kari:
Skarbrand’s victory over you still wounds your pride to this day. Teach the Wrathful Reaper the true meaning of pain and banish the Bloodthirster and his followers to the Forge of Souls, where they will endure exquisite agony and centuries of servitude. With your pride restored, infiltrate the lands of men and subjugate them to your cause. The Elves of Laurelorn are of special interest, for their souls Slaanesh desires the most. Burn down their forests, and give the Dark Prince his due.

Greasus Goldtooth:
Cement your rule as Overtyrant by uniting the entire Mountains of Mourn under your rule.

Skrag the Slaughterer:
The Great Maw hungers. Feast upon the Old World, choosing between many capitals of civilisation for their surplus of meat.
