Description:

CURRENTLY BROKEN (TIMING AND GUIDANCE)

The Soyuz spacecraft and rocket is a series of spacecraft designed for the Soviet Union by the Korolev Design Bureau in the 1960s that still remains in service today having made more than 140 flights. As the most reliable launch vehicle in the world to date the Soyuz platform was until very recently the only means of transporting crews to the ISS after the retirement of the space shuttle in 2011. Soyuz spacecraft were instrumental in launching Mir/Salyut and parts of the ISS and transporting crew to these stations. Soyuz is widely considered the world’s safest, most cost-effective human spaceflight vehicle established by its unparalleled length of operational history.

Features

–half scale Soyuz Rocket and spacecraft–I’m sure full scale is possible but when I attempted it Stormworks would frequently crash due to the interactions between all the stages

–All stages properly implemented (including the korolev cross)

–Launch Stand–the scaling means some of the proportions are a little off but I’m really happy with how it looks

Issues

–The LES (launch escape system) is non functional — possibly could be added in the future

–Farings don’t separate as they realistically should — getting them to seperate was causing serious issues. phantom forces generated by magnets/connectors. Hinges are much more stable (but obviously isn’t realistic)

–lift can be a little janky if you ride it up and down–you should only need to use it once anyway
