Description:

Ave! And welcome to Roman Skin Replacer. Rome II shipped with the ugliest character models in Total War history. This mod fixes that.

Hope you enjoy it, and remember to give a thumbs up above to help other people see it!

What it does

I’ve brought in character models from Total War: Attila and replaced the skins used for Roman character models. I added in a variety of faces, but skewed more towards the younger-looking ones as the average age for a Roman recuit was 18-20 years old. All troops and officers should be replaced, including in Empire Divided where troops wear long sleeves and trousers. Generals are not changed—there are great mods like Benjin’s AAA series that you should definitely be using!

Roman dignitaries and champions also use the new skins (just their porthole models when you click on them, this does not change the look of the agent that moves around on the campaign map).

Compatibility

For best results, place this at the top of your load order. This is a lightweight mod that should work with your favorite armor reskins, and will be compatible with any mod that just changes armor designs. It will not work with mods that also change character models (like the Rome II HD mod series) but I’ve found that mods like that are fairly uncommon, so you should be all set.

Likewise, this only changes Roman character models, so I highly recommend you pair it with the Faces From Attila mod or another non-Roman skin replacer of your choice.

Keep in mind that there may be some clipping with the occasional helmet or armor model. I did some checks and tests but obviously haven’t been able to check every mesh.
