INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Corranby – the fishing village by the sea.

As someone who loves exploring as much as anything else in games, I was often disappointed at the lack of places and things to explore on the islands when I got there. I’d spend time just walking all over the island looking for easter eggs or loot crates, only to be met with lots of empty space. So I decided to take a swing at Environment Mods and came up with redoing one of my most visited locations in career mode.

This is an Environment Mod which adds onto the vanilla island called ‘Fishing Village’. This was inspired by fishing villages in the United Kingdom where the game is based. All buildings and creations were based off of real-world and in-game examples. I know everyone loves maximum overdetail, but for this Environment Mod I tried to keep the detail minimal, without too much logic, and without too many lights. My hope is to eventually overhaul most of the in-game islands and add on additional places to visit and I’d like it all to flow seamlessly with the vanilla designs. As a result, there should also be zero performance issues with this mod, even when all lights in all buildings are switched on.

Please note I did not replace the vanilla fuel pumps at the Fishing Village, so if you have your own custom ones be sure to include those.

Note about all Environment Mods: The environment mods are similar to missions, except they spawn automatically when you start a new game and are persistent. As far as I know, and after hacking away at save files, you still cannot add them to an existing save game, you must start a new one and include ‘Fishing Village Overhaul’ or whatever Environment Mod in your selected playlists.
