Description:

Affected:
1 – Replaces galaxy generator’s number of planets per system (most systems). Minimum of 3 per system, weighted to average 3.5 per system.
– Academy will always be a 5 planet system (1 destroyed as per vanilla; 4 usable to enhance strategic value).
– No star systems (gas giant only) capped at 3 (rare), most commonly 1 planet (due to happiness issue)

2 – Rebalances weights for planet size on galaxy generation. Originally the most habitable planet types (Terran, Atoll, Forest, Ocean) and some others were most weighted to be tiny worlds. This mod changes that so they are more likely to be medium sized.

File(s) affected:
GalaxyGenerator/WeightTableDefinitions.xml (overwrites vanilla definitions for system and planet sizes)

Not affected:
– Major/minor faction home systems (appears to be defined elsewhere; only Academy system can be edited)
– Quest node planet generation
– Types of planets generated

Rambling –

I was tired of start-scumming the game only to repeatedly find one or two planet systems near my starting system, and sometimes not even any 5 planet systems. This after one really good game where most (not all) systems in my starting constellation were 3 or more. Comparing that game to the others, I realized… smaller star systems really blow. especially in a system with a unique planet or even especially the Academy. Even more so when it’s just one or two medium gas planets.
