Commanders from the Past
- Subscribe.
- In the game main menu: Press ‘Online & Skirmish’, followed by ‘Create Custom Game’.
- Click ‘Options’, then ‘Tuning Pack’, and choose ‘Commanders from the Past’ from the list.
- Start the game.
- Choose any equipped default commander to gain access to the new commanders.

Commanders from the Past is a modification which brings Company of Heroes 1 themed commanders to the Company of Heroes 2 commander system. Ability stats from the first game were used as an orientation in the creation process of new abilities while some were changed to better fit their corresponding faction designs or add some novelty.
Play the default game with just new commanders. Everything outside of commanders with the exception of minor visual changes is unchanged. Tired of playing with the same pair of bland and boring commanders? Try these out.
They are supposed to feel like powerful DLC commanders without the major balance issues that plagued vanilla game commanders like Elite Troops and Soviet Industry on release, making them very usable for PvP battles.

- The V1 Rocket may cause massive frame drops on impact.
Cosmetic:
- Several Wehrmacht commander abilities have no activation voice line.
- USF Supply Drops munition crate M1 81mm Mortar visually fires when it spawns.
Gameplay:
- The AI doesn’t use the new commanders.
