FCE ADe 01 Diesel units

History of this ADe:

The railcars FCE ADe 01-03, were a group of diesel-electric self-propelled rolling stock, built by Stanga-TIBB, of the Circumetnea Railway.
The railcars were commissioned in 1960, in number of three units, to the Officine Meccaniche della Stanga, in order to replace the obsolete rolling stock on their railway lines; they were delivered to the Circumetnea Railway between the end of 1961 and the first months of 1962, and were registered as ADe 01 ÷ 03.
During the service carried out at the Circumetnea Railway, they were normally coupled with multiple commands, in pairs of two, with possible trailers.
From the nineties the provision began, and in 2014 they were alienated for demolition.
The three railcars were set aside following the putting into service of the RALn 64 and the ADe 21-25.
Following the decommissioning of the passenger service, they remained for many years set aside at the Riposto station, together with ALn 541 (belonging to the series of ALn 541 and 542), and carriage n. 323. These railcars, including the ALn 541 and 542, and carriage no. 323, were sealed to prevent access to outsiders, due to the presence of asbestos inside them. In 2013, the decision was made to dispose of all the rolling stock described above for scrapping.
On 22 February 2014, the process for the demolition of the ADe 02 was started, then it was partially disassembled, loaded on a truck and transported to the appropriate location for the completion of the demolition process, later the other rolling stock were also demolished. which were set aside at the same station, with the exception of ADe 03, which was acquired by a private individual.

Le automotrici FCE ADe 01-03, erano un gruppo di rotabili automotori diesel-elettriche, di costruzione Stanga-TIBB, della Ferrovia Circumetnea.
Le automotrici furono commissionate nel 1960, in numero di tre unità, alle Officine Meccaniche della Stanga, allo scopo di sostituire il materiale rotabile obsoleto sulle proprie linee ferroviarie; furono consegnate alla Ferrovia Circumetnea fra la fine del 1961 e i primi mesi del 1962, e furono immatricolate come ADe 01 ÷ 03.
Dagli anni novanta iniziò l’accantonamento, e nel 2014 furono alienate per la demolizione.
Le tre automotrici furono accantonate in seguito all’immissione in servizio delle RALn 64 e delle ADe 21-25.
In seguito alla dismissione dal servizio viaggiatori, rimasero per molti anni accantonate presso la stazione di Riposto, insieme all’ALn 541 (appartenente alla serie delle ALn 541 e 542), e alla carrozza n. 323. Queste automotrici, comprese le ALn 541 e 542, e la carrozza n. 323, furono sigillate per impedire l’accesso agli estranei, per via della presenza di amianto al loro interno. Nel 2013 fu presa la decisione di alienare tutto il materiale rotabile descritto precedentemente per la demolizione.
Il 22 febbraio 2014, fu avviato l’iter per la demolizione dell’ADe 02, quindi essa fu parzialmente smontata, caricata su un tir e trasportata nella sede appropriata per l’ultimazione del processo di demolizione, in seguito furono demoliti anche gli altri rotabili che erano accantonati presso la medesima stazione, ad eccezione dell’ADe 03, la quale fu acquisita da un privato
