Performance Friendly Flat Map
This is a modified version of the Illusionary Flat Political Mapmode mod by In heaven that I cobbled together for myself. He hasn’t updated his own mod in quite some time and some of the quirks like the purple water colour were beginning to bother me. The performance lies somewhere between Flat political mapmode and Microwave Universalis and as a consequence it’s very easy on the GPU. You do sacrifice a little graphical fidelity as with all performance mods.
Keep in mind that the map only *appears* to be flat, an actual flat map would not be ironman compatible unfortunately. Still, I’m happy with it so I figured I might as well share.
Should be savegame compatible.
For max performance disable trees, shadows, city sprawl, rivers et cetera.
Definitely disable state borders but keep regular borders.
In the future I’d like to maybe change the border size as it’s very thick. Let me know what you think.
