Knights Of Khaine ( Host of Nethu Update)
Introduces 14 new units and a new building to the Dark Elf roster for custom battles and campaign (with technology upgrades). Some units are based on older TT editions or fantasy novels (such as the Chronicles of Malus Darkblade) or little lore pieces from army books. The central theme is the knightly Druchii "ideal" of riding the most dangerous mounts possible and the worship of Khaine.
Also features the iconic and infamous Mengil Manhide’s Manflayers!
Compatible with my Ten Kingdoms mod (and others) if you want to play a High elves vs Dark elves campaign. Should also be playable with SFO
– Khainite Fanatics : Mad, undisciplined fanatics who are utterly devoted to Khaine and heedless of their own lives. Low tier chaff unit with rampage, expendable and frenzy. Inspired by the the Khainite cultists from the Sundering novels. Recruitbale from khainite temples.
– Tower Guard Hardy, disciplined and well armoured and armed troops who defend the northern borders of naggaroth against chaos. Mid/high tier crossbow unit with good melee stats and armour. Inspired by the lore pieces from the army books as well as the 4th edition "city guard" unit. Recruitable from a new special building in Ghrond.
–Khainite Templars:
Tireless servants of Khaine, these fell revenants feel neither pain nor fear and they hunt the enemies of the Lord of Murder with cold and dreadful perseverance.
They are midtier GW shock infantry. Very fast, low armour, model count and defence. High damage, fear, perfect vigour and a new passive ability "Murder given form" which prevents models from dying, gives regeneration and in extreme cases can resurrect models, making them very good for chasing routing units and extremely hard to kill. the ability recharges in melee. They are also able to survive dismemberments.
–Khainite Templar Riders: A mounted version of the above, with decent armour piercing for light cavalry. They take inspiration from the Malus Darkblade novels.
–Cold One Knights (Repeater Crossbow):
It’s all in the name. Cold One knights that trade their lance and shield for a Repeater crossbow and Longsword. Very efficient vs heavy infantry and can hold off heavy cav if needed. Can not fire while moving but their experience means they are more responsive than Dark riders with their crossbows and can fire in any direction without turning around. Inspired by Malus Darkblade novel
–Cold One Chariot Knights
A heavy melee version of the regular cold one chariots, with heavier armour. This unit fills the niche of having an elite melee chariot. (also incorporates the cold one chariot fix of my earlier mods)
–Manticore Riders
Monstrous flying cavalry unit with the special "Deathfist" ability, an armour piercing rock drop ability originally designed for sinking ships, but just as good for land warfare. Due to their naval origins and elite nature, they are only recruitable from black arcs. They come with an Antilarge bonus and armour sundering.
Dark Pegasus Knights
Very fast flying cavalry, Antilarge, armoured, vanguard and causes fear. Very good vs skirmish armies and vs Aerial threats. Recruitable from the beast building chain.
Bloodscythes of Hag Graef : ROR Chariot Knights, with perfect vigour and frenzy. Known in lore for being the greatest chariot regiment in Naggaroth, before a vicious power struggle turned them against each other, resulting in bloody murder and the eventual disbanding of the regiment.
Hags of the Ark ROR Manticore riders. Death hags are the most vicious and cruel Dark elves, so they make the perfect companion for the Manticore, Khaine’s most sacred creature. They are armour piercing and have the Madness of Khaine effect.
Brides of Burning Blood super elite ROR witchelves with the ‘boiling blood’ contact effect, causing damage over time. They have reduced model count and a blood frenzy passive effect that charges in melee. Inspired by the 8th edition army book.
Ironfrost company ROR tower guard. They have a dual fire mode (regular repeater crossbows or single shot with longer range lower AP bolts). Robed in glorious white, the elven colour of death (and snow).
The Host of Nethu
Very fast flying cavalry, anit-infantry armour piercing with magic attack, armoured, vanguard and causes fear, and a maddening mortis engine effect.
Nethu is the gatekeeper of the Mirai, the Elven Underworld. He is aided by a host of Dark Pegasi, who watch unblinkingly from the battlements of his dark fortress, easily mistaken for statues by the unwary. When roused none are safe, for their shadowy maws consume souls as easily as flesh.
and finally…
The infamous cannibalistic sadists who wear the skin of their enemies as cloaks. They are a ROR great weapon shade unit with fear and poison. Also have 2 passive abilites: one which restores hp and vigour when winning melee, another which debuffs and damage enemies who flee from them.
They have the "banner of Kalad" ability which gives speed, unspottable, missile resistance and snipe.
Also included:
-Malekith’s chariot has been renamed to the "Black Chariot" and painted black, in accordance with 7th edition.
– Projectile speed for repeater crossbows has been increased
22/05/2022 – Small visual improvements to Host of Nethu ROR, and compatibility update with the new 12 Realms mod
