Abdication +
Hello!
This is a mod that adds in a decision for the player to abdicate the throne. It is available for all government types and I have added a game rule that adds two variations.
Player Choice on Abdication Restriction: Open
This setting allows the player to take the Abdicate Throne decision at any point, without restrictions.
Player Choice on Abdication Restriction: Restricted
This setting only lets the Abdicate Throne decision to be taken if one of the requirements has been met.
Restricted abdication stops the player from abdicating unless they are at least 66, are at stress level 3, or have -300 gold. These requirements have been set so that rulers may only abdicate in certain situations.
The AI may also take this decision, but only with the above restrictions.
For extra flavor, I have also added a custom trait to the game, "Burdenless", which is given to rulers who abdicate. This is to symbolize the character being relieved of the stress that comes with ruling, and hence, their burdens.
NOTE: This mod is Ironman compatible, but not Achievement compatible.
