Conflict: SU-25T Frogfoot
Overview: A SU-25T, a soviet designed CAS bomber and attack aircraft. Meant to be able to withstand hits and is sort of the soviet counterpart to the A10 Warthog. In the T variant mounted on the front of the aircraft is a TV camera system called the Shkval. The Shkval system can be used to zoom in on targets, track targets, and view projectile trajectory.
Features: A fully functional camera system which can be slewed by the arrow keys, big thanks to Hijong Park for making that possible and essentially indirectly teaching me how to script. With the use of Hijong Park’s flares scripts and an animated target tracking point dodging missiles now has a level of skill to it, instead of pressing the flare button, waiting a bit, then pressing it again or dying because the cooldown is too high you have the chance of not being hit, making it lose track, or being hit (which will usually be a 1 hit kill for almost all missiles in the project with the exception of manpads)
Armaments: 1x GSH-30-2 30mm cannon (1500 RPM)
2x UB-32 S5 Rocket Pods (full auto, 32 rockets for each pod, dual firing, meant for infantry and unarmored vehicles mainly)
1x KAB-500Kr TV GBU (meant for very large targets likes ships or buildings)
1x KH-29 TV ATGM (also meant for similarly sized targets as the KAB-500Kr)
16x Vikhr AT ATGM (missiles meant for tanks and such)
2x RBK500 cluster munitions (can be used against some vehicles, mainly infantry)
2x R60 "self defense" missiles (short range AA missiles, I don’t recommend using this vehicle for AA combat.
Controls: I highly recommend setting your keyboard to control the plane instead of the mouse as you’ll be able to look around the cockpit while flying, though a mouse controlled version is there for use.
My flight controls are mouse buttons 4 and 5 control the throttle, W is pitch down, S is up. A and D control the rudders, Q and E control the roll.
Zoom in and out: use Shift and CTRL to zoom the main camera in and out.
Controlling the Shkval system: the arrow keys slew the Shkval camera in their respective directions, to switch the Shkval to area tracking use T+Scroll which will unbind the camera from the point of impact then use right mouse button to stop it from tracking the the world origin (it’s finicky but still cool), to center the camera back to the point of impact while in area tracking mode spam your INS key (its finicky how it works for some reason so you have to spam it to force it back into regular position) to lock onto a target vehicle simply hover over the vehicle with the camera’s displayed reticle and it’ll automatically lock on, don’t move too much or it will lose track. To lock onto a non-vehicle surface simply press your right mouse button to lock it onto whatever after slewing it in that direction.
To zoom the Shkval camera in and out use your + and – keys on the keypad. The Shkval camera is used mainly for the TV guided bombs and missiles but can be used for your main gun, rockets, or bombs.
