This is a standalone version of my projectile based flak cannon.
Do not use with my rebalance mod. This alteration is included.
The projectile based flak cannon is designed to replace the instant-hit beam based flak with a more, grounded, yet still effective, alternative. This replaces the functionality of the vanilla flak cannon itself.
- Flak now utilizes projectiles.
- Flak now fires twice as fast, but maintains vanilla DPS, and has slightly higher range.
- Flak projectiles have a ‘proxy burst’ effect that arms after 30 meters.
- Due to the higher rate of fire, flak cannons now require twice as much ammunition to operate.
Why I made this:
Upon my first interaction with flak cannons, my immediate thought was: "Instant hit, 7200 DPS, AOE damage, anti missile, cannon, mine, and LASER? This things is aggressively over powered!."
And then I realized that, while overpowered, it has it’s place, even if I did still hate the instant hit portion of it.
So, I decided to address that, but I didn’t want to reduce it’s effectiveness too much, as it really does have it’s place in the game, and to straight nerf it would not do the game, as a whole, justice.
