Description:

Yet Another Resprite Mod is a texture replacement mod for The Binding of Isaac Repentance that aims to be as comprehensive as possible, swapping textures to fit my preferred aesthetic for Binding of Isaac. I’d like to recreate the presentation achieved by Edmund McMillen as seen in the original Binding of Isaac, while compromising for the pixel art style of Rebirth and the keeping the quality of Repentance‘s redone sprites. There might be little nods and references to Isaac imagery of yore and McMillen’s creative past; see what you can find. I hope the effort I spent was worth it!

Adjacent Mods

If you would like to customize your experience with this project, I’ve divided up the data featured into separate mods for your use. This mod here is the most complete version, with everything I’ve made so far within it.

Some graphics in the original Binding of Isaac were significantly altered for Rebirth onwards. I’ve preserved those changes in this mod, but if you’re feeling nostalgic, I’ve made a mod that adapts them into the game’s current style:

If you desire for a more Flash-y experience, I would highly recommend the following:

  • Sacrilege, a phenomenal soundtrack mod that embraces the composing legacy of Danny Baranowsky, extending his original soundtrack.
  • Classic Sounds, bringing back the wonderfully grotesque sound effects in Flash as done by the oft-forgotten Jordan Fehr.
Mod Compatibility

There’s no mod compatibility for the moment, but if I ever reach a point to where I’m satisfied with the vanilla game’s graphics, I might do a little bit.

Thanks
  • The Reflashed team, a project which I previously worked on and take inspiration from.
  • shuaner, for their excellent resprite mod and inspiring me to make my own.
  • aqepo, for the Upheaval-based font used in their Flashy HUD + Pickups mod.
  • Everyone who has worked on the Binding of Isaac, past, present and future.
  • And a special thanks to Edmund McMillen for being one of my greatest inspirations.

If you see any issues (i.e., incongruent sprites, things that aren’t "Edmund-faithful" enough, sloppy spriting, unfinished graphics, etc.) do let me know!
