[B41/B42] Check Around
Hello everyone !
Mod got updated to B42 and at the same time I changed its name to Check Around ! In B41 the name is still Check Upstairs however and I did not change anything there so you shouldn’t get any problems with it.
Ever felt like peaking through a window or door or looking upstairs or downstairs was a natural human trait ?
Now you can do it in Project Zomboid ! Saving you from those nasty floors hiding zombies upstairs, or even downstairs ! You can also check behind windows or door ! But peaking a closed door can have risks and cause a creeking sound that can attract zombies in the next room ! Or even players…
How to use:Check upstairs*
- When in stairs or at the bottom of it, press the keybind to check upstairs. By default, the key isn’t set**.
- This will check in a circle around the square at the top of the stairs.
- If any zombies are detected, their amount will be shown above the player.
- If no zombies are detected, your player will mention it.
Check downstairs*
- When at the top square of stairs (not on the stairs), press the keybind to check downstairs. By default, the key isn’t set**.
- This will check in a circle around the square at the bottom of the stairs.
- If any zombies are detected, their amount will be shown above the player.
- If no zombies are detected, your player will mention it.
* these voicelines can appear at the same time if you are in both conditions
Check behind windows
- Right click an opened, non-barricaded and with opened curtains window to have an option to check outside of it.
- This will check in a circle around the square behind the window.
- If any zombies are detected, their amount will be shown above the player.
- If no zombies are detected, your player will mention it.
Check behind doors
- Right click a non-barricaded door to have an option to check behind it.
- This will check in a circle around the square behind the door.
- If any zombies are detected, their amount will be shown above the player.
- If no zombies are detected, your player will mention it.
- But take care ! If the door is closed, you will have to peak it first which could possibly cause a creeking noise based on the health of the door and your sneaking skills: Nimble, Lightfoot, Sneaking.
- Your traits can also influence your chance to cause a creeking noise: Graceful, Inconspicuous, Conspicuous, Clumsy.

Customize your experience:
- Change your keybind in the options ! (Category mods for B42)
- Adapt your sandbox options to your liking ! You can increase the radius which the character checks for zombies. You can chose to show the zombie position or not.
- Chose the lore name of the zombies ! This can also be forced with a mod (check the next part about modder’s documentation).
Customization available to other moddersOther modders can easily modify the mod and its parameters ! Add your own voicelines or modify the name to show above zombies or in the voicelines ! For example, The Last of Us Infected will not mention "zombies" but instead "infected".

TRANSLATIONS NEED UPDATING, DON’T HESITATE TO CONTACT ME
Native compatibility with Zomboid Forge ! This will show the nametag of the zombie type instead of simply "zombie" above their head and take into consideration the nametag options of the user (font, duration…).
