Pets Don’t Die
Regarding Updates: I don’t really play CK3 much anymore, and have a pretty hectic schedule besides. I’ll try keep on top of issues/suggestions raised in the comments, but probably won’t be able to update much outside of that.
As the title says, with this mod events that result in your pet dying/otherwise being removed should either not fire or have the outcomes altered so your pet is safe and sound. I tested as many of them as I could with my (admittedly limited) modding knowledge. But if something doesn’t work let me know.
Update:
Added the Cat-apult event.
Fixed schemes hanging.
Changes:
– Removed the death by old age event trigger for both cats and dogs
– Changed outcome of the "Spouse is Allergic" trigger for cats to always be non-allergic
– In the "Cat Claims Courtier’s Pillow" event, changed the base chance for both vengeance and your cat running away to 0. Not sure if particularly vengeful AI might still slip through
– Removed the fighting event when you have both a cat and dog
– In the "Dog Runs Away" event, changed the base chance for "dog is gone" and "killed by rival" to 0
– When meeting another dog, changed the chance to fight to 0
– Removed the option for AI to kill any gifted puppies or cats
– Removed the "Dog Lashes Out" event
– Changed the cat’s survival chance in the "Saved From Creepy Crawlies" event to 100%
– Removed the "Saved From Poisoned Food" event for both cats and dogs
– Changed the base success chance for the options in the "Pet Runs Away While Travelling" event so that your pet should always be found safe
– Cat survival chance in "Cat-apult" event should now be 100 for all options
