Welcome to the Rise of the Norse, a Content Mod aiming to be a bit of a DLC feeling, the aim is to add lots of features and content for the Norse Faith.
Updated for 1.2.
Added the Jomsviking as a building based nation on a request for a friend that wanted to play multiplayer.
Added tons of buildings, units, and advances exclusive for the Jomsvikings.
Fixed the 1.2 error where situation events didnt fire. should work now.
As of the 1.2 Update there might be bugs that turned up that im unaware of. please let me know if you find anything weird.
Added Scandinavian Bureaucracies if you form Scandinavia, you dont need to be Norse to have them.
May Odin guide your conquest and Thor protect your journey.
– Art-Assets for Norse Faith and added content.
– Several Advances for Norse Faith contries for ALL ages!
– 50+ Norse Faith Flavor events .
– Religious Actions, lite Siezing Christian buildings and holding Blót
– Several Goverment Reforms for Norse faith nations and Formable Scandinavia.
– 2 Town priviliges unique to Norse.
– Warrior Lodges, similar to Chivalric Orders but for Norse Faith Contries.
– New Laws, Among them about Raiding and Blót, a few more to unlock as game progresses.
– An Unique Raider Unit that upgrades with every age, good Morale damager and take less attrition.
– Several Norse only Buildings , even some Unique ones like the Althing and Uppsala Temple
– Added Holy Sites, even "Catatumbo: Valley of the thunder god" for fun.
– A early focus on Thrall (Slave) Raiding.
– Slave production buildings such as Farms, Gather camps and Workshops.
– Added Content for the Scandinavia Formable country tag, and Scandinavian Bureaucracies like Byzantium. Also Hats, I like hats.

When converting to Norse Paganism, you start a situation where ambitious young nobles, bored of the lack status que form the Fórn Siðr faction, a romanticed extremist view of the Glory days of Vikingdom where warriors where warriors and the Gods walked the earth. and demands a return to such times. You as a player has to navigate either Giving this faction more power empowering nobles for the future for Military might and stability, but risking pogroms and eventually maybe even a national Genocide if they gain to much power, or you could use the Oppertunity to Loot the gold or rich Christians of the nation to rebuild society in your vision, at the risk of them rising up and engulfing the nation into civil war and chaos. The last path to traverse is the thorniest path, if you manage to keep all factions happy for 10 years, a a new type of faith where Vite Kristr, White Christ is accepted as just another diety, bringing long time stability and a little less harsh view from your catholic neighbours, but you could also just take the glory yourself and establish yourself as a holy king and restorer of the old faith for Crown power and Centralization. Regarless it ought to make the conversion back to the old gods more intresing.
– Hel’s Dark Embrace, Cults of the godess of the underworld spread as the people seek protection against the Plauge, You get to choose to protect the people from the Black Plauge, but at the cost of angering the clergy and Might have future consquenses (that content yet to be added) or to Reject the dark temptations from Hel..
-Adding More Flavor Events
– Adding Unique Mechanics to Asatru, im split between reforming the fiath over time like Aztec or having something like Purity/Honor from Shinto, but instead using Fate.
– Ragnarok Event chain during little ice age situation
Also thanks skoobeldoobel and "Norse Religion Expanded" its that mod that inspired me to do this one. Im kinda new to modding and this mod is mostly to learn, but I was a little sad to see Skoobeldoobels mod not being updated, so decided to do one myself, but didnt want to steal or copy their ideas.

How to become Norse?
To Fire the event and become Norse, you need to allow The Game Rules to allow switiching Religions and change the Vanilla way, it should fire the Situation. Go into the religion tab under Society, on the left Corner up its a button that says Primary Religion, click that and you can change your religion to Norse. After that the Situation should fire. Have fun!
Isnt the Norse faith a little powerful?
I got the question whatever some of the military bonuses arent a bit powerful?
and to that, yes maybe? but you are also in a pretty isolated situation, in a pretty much economics based game. As a Heathen you will be relient mostly on yourself in a pretty depopulated scandinavia compared to many other nations. But ofc im doing this for fun and want to add cool things. If you think something is way OP, let me know and i will balance it.

0.6 Added Sodir Shrine and Boosted Hof after suggestions from User: Tyr, and added religious Actions.
0.5 Lots of Bug fixes, added 5 more Flavour events.
0.4 – Added Advances for every age.
0.3 – Added 14 more flavour events, one for each god, including Hel
0.2 – Event Chain during Black Plauge to allow Witchcraft / Worship of Hel.
0.1 – Added 2 more Flavour events, Raid and Skald Event.
