Ezra’s Realism Overhaul
ERO is a mod dedicated to making CK3 more realistic in every way I can figure out how. I started this mod to change the doctrines of Christian religions to align better with reality and have since decided to expand the scope.
As of now, I have changed the doctrines and tenets of several religions, tweaked the values of several things, generally undone some of Paradox’s sub-wikipedia tier representation of religions and have added 1 new religion (Maronite Church). I plan to further expand this mod to have much more content and further make CK3 a more of a historical strategy experience than a poorly made medieval Sims.
Main Features:
- Updated doctrines for Christian faiths, with particular focus given to the Apostolic Churches
- New Christian faith: The Maronite Church. Face the harsh climate of an Islamic Levant with a new Catholic Rite bound to lose it’s two sole provinces soon after the start of the game (Note: no rulers start with this faith, you must convert or create a custom ruler to play as a Maronite)
- Ecumenical Christians who share the same Head of Faith now see each other as righteous instead of Astray
- New localization and effects for several faiths and tenets so that they more accurately represent their subject and usage
- More historically accurate starts (Starting with the now massive Abbasid Caliphate in 867)
And more that I’ve forgotten to list!
Planned Features (in no particular order):
- Autocephalous Patriarchs for Eastern Christian faiths
- More Christian faiths (look out for West Syriacs coming soon!)
- Better representation of the communion between the Miaphysite Copts and Armenians
- Improvements to Islamic faith doctrines and tenets
- Placement of faiths in additional historically accurate locations in 867 and 1066 starts
- New historically important characters (Anushtegin Gharchai should be around in 1066, he would become the Khwarazmshah in only a decade!)
- More cultures (Copts aren’t Arabs and certainly didn’t speak Arabic at this time)
And more, as I think of things to add!

Thanks to "Heirs of Saint Maron" mod, which has a wonderful icon for the Maronite faith.
