Better Challenge Rooms
Harder challenge rooms + much better rewards!
This mod makes challenge rooms harder by spawning a harder set of enemies.
After you clear the challenge room you get a random item!
If you clear the challenge room without taking damage, you also get 2 rare pickups!
You can decide how many items and pickups you get with Mod Config Menu!
The Boss Challenge Room door only counts Red Hearts in determining whether Isaac is allowed to enter. Soul Hearts are ignored (can be disabled in Mod Config Menu).
In Normal Challenge Room – you get a Treasure Room Item.
In Boss Challenge Room – you get an item from one of these pools:
- 50% Boss
- 20% Secret Room
- 11% Angel Room
- 11% Devil Room
- 8% Planetarium
- In addition you also get a rare pickup!
In Sheol – you get a Devil Room Item.
In Cathedral – you get an Angel Room Item.
Synergy with More Options: Normal Challenge Room spawns 2 items after you clear it. You have to choose one.
Synergy with There’s Options: Boss Challenge Room spawns 2 items after you clear it. You have to choose one.
Every environment has a unique set of enemies that fit to the theme of the environment.
For Normal Challenge Rooms I did more wave options than needed, which means that in different runs you can get different waves.
I have spent countless hours balancing all the waves and trying to think of interesting ones.
I can say everything is fair, but do prepare yourself for a real fight!
