Description:

From Old Boy: Bear in mind I am no computer expert or coder, all I had was determination to put together my vision of a battlefield experience. So forgive me if don’t have the answers to bugs or computer issues.

:steamthis:To run the mod without any problems, do this: 1) Open the properties of the game, 2) Put version 1.020 in beta versions. After that you will be able to launch the mod normally.!!!

All right boys. If you really want to play the mod here what you got to do. First right click under the game and put properties, from there scroll down until you see the beta tabs, click on the beta and put version 1.019. From there enable it. If you done it right you will need to download somethings. Let it finish downloading and from there load up the game and enjoy!

I’m guessing the reason why some people are having issues in the FOB mission is; the mission file interacts with the map file with a sequence of events to delete parts of the map file as you play (Because the size of the map and mission is huge). Saving a mission only saves the progression with the mission file but not the map file. So when you go to load that mission next time the map will load the default setting, hence why there might be conflicting info that causes serious lag.
Solution: Set aside 1-2 hours to play game in one go.

The Ia Drang mission (LZ X-Ray) which should’ve been pretty straight forward, became a scrambled mess of ugly scripting, mybad. Even this may run havoc on some computers.

Why do some people have lag and others don’t have any issues at all???!!! eludes me. Could be the way a cpu/gpu/ram system is set up. :

AIM OF THE MOD: :
Battalion Commander Mods encourages players to use the Chain of Command, inexperienced soldiers will not run off into battle without leadership. These Mods forces the player to maintain and manage limited troops and resources where each and every soldier is a valuable member of the unit.

THE MISSIONS: :
The LZ X-Ray Mission is based on the Battle of Ia Drang (We were Soldiers).
Game map made from actual maps from the time.
The first set of events based on the actual events. Shortly after Bravo Company choppers into LZ X-Ray, 2 Platoon gets cutoff. The rest is for you to recreate history.

LZ X-RAY MISSION: :
Your starting Group is B Company minus 2 Platoon (Cutoff).

5 Stages:
1. Secure LZ and survive 1st wave for 7min.
2. Survive 2nd wave 7min.
3. Support 2 Platoon calling in fire support, 7min.
4. Survive 4th attack 7min.
5. Survive last attack 14min and RV with 2 Platoon.

The FOB Mission is nine mini-missions in one super large map.
You can choose 6 out of the 9 missions each with its own unique bonus before a large enemy attacks your Forward Operation Base (FOB).

FOB MISSION: :
Your starting Group is 2x US Infantry Platoons.

Complete the following mini-missions for the bonus:
The Rice fields – 2x APCs
The Beach – 1x Patrol Boat and access to the River and Island missions.
The Hills – 2x Mortars
The City – 2x M40 Recoiless AT Guns
The Islands – Air Strikes on Day 7
The Village – The first wave of PAVN attacks on Day 7 is reduced.
The Jungle – 3rd Platoon
The River – MACVSOG team
The FOB – Ammo truck, Engineers, Claymore mines (Hold ‘Shift’ to plant more than one at a time)

IMPORTANT : If you have 16GB of RAM or less, get the free Wise Memory Optimizer software: it will free up memory on your computer and fix out of memory crashes. I would also recommend playing GOH on a SSD.

FROM OLD BOY: Thanks to all those that have helped me out in all my mods but this will prob be my last one, I spend more time doing this than my actual job however King of Wei might be the man to keep this mod going. (I will still pop in now and then)
Cheers.
