Description:

For those who don’t know: Darkest Dungeon 2 actually adds in The Blood as a combat item, which can only be found in certain Academic’s Studies. As expected, that version of The Blood is quite different from the version found in Darkest Dungeon – so I decided to add Darkest Dungeon 2’s The Blood into Darkest Dungeon 1!

I made this version of The Blood to be as accurate to the one found in Darkest Dungeon 2 as possible, meaning it has the exact same effects:

Adds one Crit token (100% chance to crit the next attack and ignores 20% resistance)
Adds one Strength token (increases next attack’s damamge by 50%)
Adds one Speed token (the hero will attack imediately next round)
Adds Horror for three rounds (or, in Darkest Dungeon 1 terms, 10 Horror for 3 rounds)

Not only that, but another inn item can be found in the same Academic’s Studies, known as The Wine. I’ve decided to add it as well! Like in Darkest Dungeon 2, it heals for 3 (30) Stress.

A word of warning – Darkest Dungeon 2 is still a work in progress, meaning that The Blood or The Wine may or may not be buffed or nerfed over the course of its development. I will be updating this mod to match any major changes I am aware of which occur with regards to The Blood and the Wine, no matter what those changes may entail.

Furthermore, due to the nature of the mod a provisions expansion mod is a necessity to use the items outside of the dungeon they are found. I recommend Moon Slime’s Provision Expansion Mod.

The Blood can currently be found in two locations: firstly, in Courtyard-exclusive curios called Vintage Collections (animation by Genlis_Tin) which are relatively rare, but make up for that by always paying out with three Blood bottles or three Wine bottles, just like in Darkest Dungeon 2. The other way you can get them is by equipping the Crimson Tick, a Pet trinket with a very low chance to drop from Supplicants.

This mod should be compatible with any mods which don’t edit the base Courtyard curio and tick_zombie files.
