Special Chest Pools! (Haunted and Spiked chest item pools!)
Haunted chests and Spiked/Mimic chests now how their own themed item pools and trinket pools! (15% chance for an item, 15 % chance for a trinket)
Doesn’t it seem odd that both spiked/mimic chests and haunted chests drop the same loot as regular chests, I mean who even opens spiked chests intentionally? Well I thought it was about time something was done! This mod aims to make both types of chests a little more exciting and gives an actual reason to open them on purpose with the addition of their own unique themed item and trinket pools that can sometimes drop alongside their regular chest loot!
With this mod I tried to make both the item and trinket pools fitting for each chest with haunted chests containing ghost/soul themed things such as Ghost Bombs, Vade Retro and Found Soul and spiked chests containing on-hit/self-damage and spike/nail themed things such as Bloody Lust, Gimpy and Swallowed Penny. There are few really strong items in each pool but it’s balanced out by the rest of the items in each pool. (full item and trinket pools below)
These new item pools should hopefully bring some new life to each run as well making finding these chest types a bit less of a bummer, especially considering how hard it is to unlock haunted chests. This mod should help in making some of the lesser liked/used items such as on hit effects a little more appealing!
And before you ask, this mod supports many many modded items and trinkets from various mods such as Repentance Plus, Ipecac, Mastema, The Collection mods and more! (if you feel an item or mod support should be added please let me know!)
Hopefully this brings some new life and variety into opening spiked and haunted chests!
